So for week 2 for STUBC the theme was commenting skills. I chose activity 5 because last STUBC I wrote a commenting guidlines. (Make sure to check it out.) So here are the blogs I chose and why.
1- http://tutu.global2.vic.edu.au/ I went on a girl named Chelsea’s Blog. I thought this blog was very interesting and well writen. We have so much in common it was interesting to peek a bit in her life. I made a new avatar using a link she had on her blog, and I like it much better now. I definitely recommend this blog.
2- The 2nd blog I visited was Francesca’s blog I was intrieged by her all about me page. She had a picture of a dog with all the things she likes and I am wondering how she did it! I like this blog because it was interesting she didn’t give too much information at once but it wasn’t a short and boring post. Great job Francesca http://francesca-cm.blogspot.com/2017/03/a-little-bit-me.html.
3- The 3rd blog I visited was a girl named Leila’s Blog. I really like this blog and the way it was set up. Her backround is really pretty and the posts are well written. She wrote a post about a spring poem, I thought it was very creative. I hope you get a chance to read it. Spring Poem.
I hope you get a chance to visit these blogs and read some of their post.

Bye for Now,
My last post for the challenge is going to be me evaluating my blog and saying what I think I can do better. Here is what I found.
- How many posts did you write? – 8 posts
- How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?– 4 were school based 2 were based on my own interests and 2 were set by the challenge.
- How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?– I received 60 comments.
- Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?– The most that received the most comments was the one I wrote about Harry Potter. I think it got the most because their are so many Potterheads out there and it really spoke to them.
- Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?– I enjoyed writing my All about me page the most because I got to put my style and spunkiness into it and people really enjoyed reading it.
- Did you change blog themes at all and why?– I didn’t change my blog theme at all. It took me a week or so to find the theme that I chose but the one I have now really fit my style of writing and personality.
- How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?- I think I have just enough widgets including all of the mandatory ones.
- How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?– I have 9 overseas and across the USA students in my blogroll
– Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?– I used links in my blog because it is a fun way to show people the resources I used.
Today the principal of my school Mrs. Benay reviewed my blog and here are the questions I asked here and the answers she gave me.
- What were your first impressions of this blog?– She thought that it was consistent with the font and colors. She also liked how I had pages for the important things that I wrote about.
- What captured your attention?– The colors and how well written my blog was is what captured her attention. Also the appearance and widgets I had.
- What distracted you on the blog?– Nothing was distracting for her but she said that the different fonts and colors could be distracting to others.
- What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog?-She said definitely be extra careful with the spelling and grammar. Maybe you can make categories for your blog that way reader can find different subjects easily.
Over all here advice was really useful and I will definitely take that advice. If anyone who is reading this has advice about what I could do to make it better comment down below. I can’t wait to be a part of this challenge again and Hope you all come back to read the rest of what I have this year!
Today the topic is everything musical.
In my school the 5th graders get to play and instrument. The instrument I like playing is the Alto saxophone. I have saxaphone on Monday Morning before school and it is a lot of fun. If you have the opportunity to play and instrument I would definitely suggest playing one. In this post I will explain what instruments I play, why I like them and some fun facts about them.
The first instrument I play is the Alto Saxophone. I play this because my mom played it and I really thought I would like it, and now after playing it for 3 months I have found an amazing love for it. It is REALLY LOUD just so you know too. One reason I am playing the saxophone is it is really fun and not extremely hard (In my opinion). The Alto Saxophone contains of 5 parts the body, joint, mouth piece, reed, and the reed holder. Once you have the basics playing it and figuring out different notes isn’t that hard. So fun facts are former president Bill Clinton was Amazing at the saxophone.
Another instrument I like to play is the Ukulele. I enjoy the Ukulele because it is not hard to play and it has a really cool beachy sound and it sounds like you on the beach in Hawaii. I got my ukulele on my 10th birthday and I can play Love yourself by Justin Bieber, Lava, Ho Hey by; The Lumineers, and Riptide by: Vance Joy. One interesting fact about the ukulele is, ukulele means “jumping flea” in Hawaiian. If you have a chance to play it you should definitely try it out.
The last instument I play is my voice. I absolutely love singing. I can express myself by singing and it is super fun and easy to do with some practice. Also you can sing so many different styles of music like pop, rock, country, jazz, and many more. A fun fact about singing is more than 100 muscles in your body work when you sing a note. I am in my 5th grade chorus and boy is it fun. I love being able to sing several different notes.
I hope you enjoyed this post about what instruments I play and why. Music is a huge part of my life and I don’t know what my life would be without it. I just want to say if you have the chance to play and instrument definitely do it and persevere even if it is hard. This is the link to different facts about singing .

Every Friday my class has Genius Hour where we can create things to inform and entertain people.
My project is to make a video on how to program cool robots named Dash and Dot.
My idea was to make a video about programming and program a dance number that dash and dot will be able to do.
I am super excited to learn about coding and robots. Dash and dot are super easy to work with and set up.
At the end of this post I will leave the link to dash and dot’s site if you would like to purchase one or both of them.
I’m going to tell you a little bit about the apps that you can use with the awesome robots.
Their are some apps that you can just drive them with that app is called Go. It allows you to have dash or dot move forward and back, side to side, and look up at the person controlling or talking to. It also allows you to record your voice and have dash repeat what you said. It can have sirens turn on and off and honk the horn it’s a great way to fool your friends and family.
Another cool app is called Blockly. It allows you to code dash and dot and do all the things that go can do but in sequence and patterns. You can make dash and dot dance and make noise. This app is fun if you want to make a dance number or a coding game with friends and family. Dash and dot are great for any age and learning level. They teach you how to code, create and have fun using really cool apps with the touch of a button. All these apps and more are able to be downloaded using apple and android devices.
I hope that you found this post interesting and cool and if you would like to purchase or look at dash and dot here is the link to their Website
Comment down below if you have ever seen or have Dash or Dot.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with Harry Potter (and by obsessed I mean OBSESSED).
I’m going to tell you a little bit about Harry’s awesome but very mysterious life.
So, This series is about a boy named Harry Potter. He lives with his mean Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin, The Dursley’s.
They are so mean that he has to sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. Anyways his parents died because of a mysterious dark wizard named Lord Voldemort. One day he gets and acceptance letter from a magical school called Hogwarts and all of his parents past seem to make sense now. In his adventures at Hogwarts he is also accompinimented by his new best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Him and his friends end up in heated battles with Lord Voldemort and all of his supporters or (Death Eaters). Anyways If you like action packed fantasy books you should definitely ready all of the Harry Potters.

That is what Autumn is. Have a wonderful Fall.
Bye for now.
Last week Lighthouse 5th grade went to Mount Philo in Vermont. It was about an hour drive from our school and it was a blast. It took about a 1/2 hour to hike up the mountain but boy was it worth it! The top of the mountain was so beautiful and scenic I thought that I could stay up their for hours. At the top we ate lunch and explored. We also collected leaves and played hours of capture the flag. Over all I had a wonderful time full of laughter and fun. My school gives its best foot forward to let us have the best field trips ever! I thank all the teachers for everything they do for us and I love going to this school. Anyways I got to know people more by connecting with all my friends and playing games that connected us together as a team and a big family. Here are some awesome pics my awesome teachers took.
